The Land
Belltrees is a very large place. Belltrees Station (a station would be called a "ranch" in America) covers 23,000 acres on either side of the Hunter River. From the Bridge Paddock Hill behind the Country House you can see for miles, and virtually all the land you see is part of Belltrees. Visitors are always amazed when they learn that the estate was six times larger in 1912!
The land is made up of fertile river bottom, broad paddocks (pastures) and rolling hills rising to low mountains. Over 100 kinds of trees are found at Belltrees, along with plentiful bird species and hundreds of kangaroos. Continue tour...
