The Belltrees Horses

My name is Brenda. I'm the Horse and Stable Manager at Belltrees Station in Australia. My friend, "Belltrees' Mandy", is one of the 2-300 horses I care for at Belltrees. We're located near Scone in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales, about a half day drive from Sydney.

Scone is the Horse Capital of Australia, famous for its Thoroughbred studs. Here at Belltrees we breed Thoroughbreds with Australian Stock Horses to produce some of Australia's finest polo ponies. The White family, owners of Belltrees, have been raising horses here for over 100 years. My boss, Anto White coaches the Australian Polo Team and oversees the training of all of our Belltrees horses.

Belltrees horses are noted for their spirit, stamina and even-tempered dispositions. Every horse we train is used to work cattle on the 23,000 acre Station. They may get their speed and grace from their Thoroughbred lineage and their strength from the Stock Horse side, but they certainly get their patience and stamina from mustering cattle up and down our hills and mountains for hours at a time.

Plan to do some riding on your visit to Australia. There is beautiful Bed and Breakfast accommodation on the estate, and we've got horses for any level of riding skill. From the main stables you can ride for miles in any direction. Even on a 30 minute ride you'll see wild kangaroos, cockatoos and lorikeets. For serious equestrians there is polo or a cross-country Event course.

Take a look at the links below for more about our horses and riding adventures, or refer to the menu at the left to tour Belltrees online and find out about accommodation.
